Instead of sending sketchy PDFs or shady software links, these scammers pretend to be recruiters from major crypto firms like Gemini or Kraken and offer you dream jobs with salaries between $200K and $350K.

But there’s a nasty twist…
How the Scam Works:

You’re contacted via LinkedIn, Discord, Telegram, or even freelance platforms.

A fake recruiter interviews you with professional, long-form crypto questions.

You’re asked to record a video answer to a final question.

But — surprise — your mic/cam “doesn’t work.”

The scammer offers a “fix” involving browser settings and a fake Chrome update.

💀 Once you follow it… malware is installed, giving hackers backdoor access to your device — and possibly your crypto wallets.

🧠 Why It’s So Dangerous:

No sketchy files — just simple “browser troubleshooting.”

Works across Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Can drain your wallets, steal passwords, or plant spyware.

How to Stay Safe:

Be skeptical of too-good-to-be-true job offers — especially unsolicited ones.

Never follow strange instructions to “fix mic/camera” issues during online interviews.

Don’t install or “update” anything unless from official sources.

If you think you were exposed: wipe your device immediately.
