Why Social Engineering Is the Biggest Threat in Crypto Today
-

This case reveals a growing trend: crypto scams are becoming more sophisticated by focusing on trust rather than technical exploits. Scammers used gradual “grooming” tactics, building emotional connections before introducing financial discussions, a strategy commonly known as pig-butchering.
By the time victims were asked to invest, they already felt comfortable and in control, making it easier to send funds without suspicion. The lesson is clear—unsolicited messages, “guaranteed returns,” and requests to transfer crypto to unknown wallets are major red flags that should never be ignored.

“Guaranteed returns” is always the biggest red flag

Haven't you noticed that none of this would happen if these were investors who relied on technical analysis, instead of simply making decisions almost like a lottery player—or more specifically, making decisions based on opinions formed by advertising? I'm talking about investing in shitcoins in general. After all, a maximum of half an hour of research is enough to be able to determine whether something is just a scam or has market potential.

This is why trust is the real attack vector

If it feels too smooth… it’s probably a trap

Stay skeptical, always

The longer the setup, the bigger the scam usually
