Fake Crypto Influencers Are Still Running the Same Old Scam
-

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has flagged a viral X (Twitter) account as a fake persona designed to farm engagement and eventually promote scam tokens. The account gained traction by posting sensational geopolitical claims, attracting hundreds of thousands of followers in a short period of time.
This tactic is becoming increasingly common: build trust with viral content, then pivot to promoting low-liquidity tokens for profit. Once enough users buy in, insiders dump their holdings, leaving retail investors with heavy losses. It’s a reminder that viral content in crypto isn’t always what it seems.
